Home News and events Special Series – ICT Sectors and Digital Business in Africa

Emerging economies play an important role in tackling the severe lack of talent in digital ICT and business process services. After the rapid rise of the ICT industries in the Central & Eastern European countries, supported by domestic economical growth, and growth in export of services as well as by foreign investments in local delivery centers, emerging economies follow a similar path and orientate sector development also on enabling local ICT companies to export IT and business process services.

Investments of major BPO, IT-services and also R&D companies such as Majorel, Xceed, Altan, Mazars and others in operations in African countries such as Morocco, Senegal, Rwanda and others provide proof of concept and encourage also smaller businesses to co-operate with local ICT companies.

In addition the efforts of governments and international development agencies have created feasible conditions and an attractive investment climate. For more information you can read the study “Africa – An Opportunity for Europe to Bridge its Digital Skills Gap” here.

With our special series of Outsourcing Destination Guides – Africa, covering 7 African countries – Egypt, Rwanda, Morocco, Tunisia, Ghana, Senegal and Cote d’Ivoire we provide in-depth analysis of local ICT sectors, the conditions and the opportunities and also allow insights into local business operations.

In cooperation with the Digital Skills Accelerator Africa, a German association focused on supporting local companies and new investments in the sector with specialized training services, and the Special initiative “Invest for Jobs” of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development we work with local associations, development agencies and companies to make in-depth insights into the ICT sectors available free of charge.
