Our research – on the desk and on the ground – shows that Africa has indeed become a viable option to deliver high quality ICT services to international markets. 41
The total market for ICT services in Africa has reached about $104,2 billion in 2023. 4 The industry has been growing over the last five years, which is expected to continue. By 2025, the sector is estimated to grow to over $160 billion, according to the World Bank 5 which represents around 5% of the total GDP of the continent.
The African Development Bank Group further predicts a growth of the ICT sectors in Africa to 8,5% of total GDP by 2050. 6 In many countries, the ICT sector is one of the key development sectors, and already exceeds these forecasts.
